Apprentice School Chapter of JAYCEES Current Events

    The Virginia Jaycees is the premiere leadership training and community service organization for young adults. The organization serves men and women between the ages of 21 and 40 and has been doing so since 1920.
     The Jaycees, also known as the Junior Chamber of Commerce, provides opportunities to improve on one's business skills, provides networking opportunities, performs community service, and offers many fun social opportunities. Over 40 chapters are located throughout the State of Virginia, and there are nearly 2000 chapters nationwide. As a member of a local chapter, you are also a member of the Virginia Jaycees, United States Jaycees, and Junior Chamber International.
     We help people! through - Personal Growth, Leadership Development, Community Involvement.

Financial Investment Clinic, April 30, 2008 @ 5:00PM at Main Street Library in Newport News. VP Wealth Management Shawn Neighbor with Smith Barney will be speaking on investments and will also answer questions. Refreshments will be provided!!! Every 3rd Sunday of the month, our Jaycees Chapter hosts a soup kitchen at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. This is a great community service project, which provides a warm meal for the underprivileged citizens of our Newport News community. The volunteers go in to cook eggs, grits, and toast at 8:00am, and finish serving and clean up by 11:00am. Save the Date - September 20th, 2008 - The Norfolk Jaycees 7th Annual Pub Crawl & Poker Run! Looking for participants and a few great minds to run this awesome project! Contact Christina for more info! State Events Spring work party at Camp VA Jaycee, March 28th-30th. Come help clean-up our favorite charity Camp VA Jaycee. (Peninsula Jaycees among others will also be out there, work hard and at night play even harder!)

Test out your billiard skills and get some good eats at Shorebreak Billiards off Shore Drive. Plenty of fun times for those not so skilled too. Plenty of TVs to keep you up to date on all your sports. RSVP needed for amount of tables.
