The Virginia Jaycees is the premiere leadership training and community
service organization for young adults. The organization serves men and
women between the ages of 21 and 40 and has been doing so since 1920.
The Jaycees, also known as the Junior Chamber of
Commerce, provides opportunities to improve on one's business skills,
provides networking opportunities, performs community service, and
offers many fun social opportunities. Over 40 chapters are located
throughout the State of Virginia, and there are nearly 2000 chapters
nationwide. As a member of a local chapter, you are also a member of the
Virginia Jaycees, United States Jaycees, and Junior Chamber
International.

The VA Jaycees year end conference took place this past weekend in Virginia Beach. The following members attended the conference: Curtis Donaldson - 2011 State Director, 2012 State Director Kenny Weeks - 2011 Community VP, 2012 Chief of Staff VA Jaycees Cam Collier - 2011 Membership VP, 2012 Membership VP Kyung Bae - 2012 Director of Fun Sarah Gentry - 2011 Individual Development VP, 2012 Business Management VP Kevin Doyle - 2011 International VP, 2012 International VP Seth Schlosser - 2012 Community VP Page Sickles - 2011 Director of Fun, 2012 President Eboni Duck - Member Kareem Solomon - Faculty Advisor Matt Brunscheon - 2011 Atlantic Regional Director, 2012 State Membership VP Sean Brady - 2011 President, 2012 Chairman of the Board & 2012 Atlantic Regional Director.
At the conference we attended training seminars for: Financial Planning ,Public Speaking , History of the Jaycees , Strategic Planning and Introduction to Java Language
The following received awards for the fourth quarter: New member of the Quarter – Kyung Bae Veteran Member of the Quarter – Curtis Donaldson 3rd place in the Virginia Cup for the 4th Quarter.

I am very pleased to announce the Apprentice Jaycees members collectively contributed to our chapter winning the following awards: 3rd Place for Virginia Cup for the Year Most Improved Chapter of the Year
