On our recent research trip our student chapter of SNAME learned about Paramount’s Kings Dominion’s linear motors. These motors are similar to those that will be used for the next class of carrier catapult system. At the park there are two separate coasters that use linear induction motors (LIM), The Flight of Fear and The Blast Coaster.
